#44. Try 25 New Restaurants in Portland, OR

On February 5th, Dan and I had somewhat of a spontaneous date night.  I had been suggesting it several times earlier in the week, as we hadn't really had much time together lately.  Things were crazy busy for both of us at work, and I was feeling like we needed a treat!  Dan, on the other hand, wouldn't commit to making a plan, so I didn't think it was going to happen.

We were also quickly accumulating gift cards and Groupons for date night type things, like restaurants, movies, etc.

I remember that Saturday being pretty busy.  We'd run a bunch of errands and had gotten home around 4ish.  I am pretty sure we'd been to every grocery store in town that day, so as I changed into comfy sweats, my stomach was growling, so I walked into the office and asked Dan, "what do want to do for dinner tonight?"  And his reply was, "well, what time are we leaving?"  I was so excited!  We hadn't made a plan, but we were going to be spontaneous and head out for dinner that night!

We got ready to go out for dinner, and consulted our stack of gift cards... where to go??  After a quick discussion, we decided on Riccardo's, a small authentic Italian restaurant in Lake Oswego.  Thank you to Brittney and Ian for the gift certificate!

We jumped in the car and headed across town. Dan called the restaurant while we were driving and made a reservation, just in case.

Riccardo's is the cutest little place ever.  It's very small and intimate, and the wait staff is incredible.  We had the best time.  Our waiter was awesome too.  Dan had pumpkin stuffed ravioli and I had the lasagna.  Both were absolutely amazing, very rich and full of flavor!

We had dessert too... I had an apple cake with caramel sauce that came with a fancy Italian name, and Dan had Panna Cotta.  Again, both were amazing and delicious.  I had a cappuccino with dessert that THE Riccardo made for me himself!

We had a great time, and went home very full and happy!  I would love to go to Riccardo's again, especially in the summer when you can sit out on their back patio!
