#58. Eat breakfast in bed

This was one of those things that, when I added to my list, sounded a lot more glamourous than it ended up being in reality.

We flew home from our annual March trip to Las Vegas on a Thursday.  I went back to work on Friday so I didn't really get a chance to recover. Thankfully the weekend was just around the corner.  We didn't do much that weekend because of being so completely wiped out from an entire week in Las Vegas.

We caught up on TV and sleep and planned to go to church on Sunday morning since we'd missed a few times. I can't remember exactly what happened... I don't think I set my alarm because Dan will usually wake up on his own and then wake me up, if I don't wake up on my own as well.

Sure enough, I woke up Sunday morning on my own, rolled over to find Dan already awake, watching TV.  His nightstand clock read 9:00, exactly the time I would need to get up to get ready and get to church on time. I reached over to my nightstand and grabbed my phone.  My phone said 10:00.  I thought to myself, "Hmm, that's strange. Why is the time different?"

I didn't think anything more of it though.  After a quick look at Facebook, I started seeing posts and people commenting on "a time change" and "losing an hour", and "not getting enough sleep".  I said to Dan, "Did we miss Daylite Savings?"  He shook his head and said no.  I had him bring up the menu guide on the TV to see what time it said... sure enough, the TV was in the 10 o'clock hour too!  We had totally missed Daylite Savings! Between our vacation/work trip/week long in Las Vegas, we had both let the time change slip our minds.

And since church starts at 10:30, there was no way we were going to make it. So after a momentary freak out, we settled back in to bed and continued watching TV.  Dan disappeared for a bit, and came back with scrambled eggs, toast and coffee and we lounged in bed, having breakfast, watching TV, relaxing and enjoying each other's company.

I do not like Daylite Savings in the Spring, because of losing an hour... but at least it's manageable when I see it coming. Being caught off guard was not fun for this Type A girl.  But we made lemonade out of lemons, and ended up enjoying the moment, as well as making progress on my list!
