#41. Visit a Wax Museum

It's no secret that Dan and I LOVE Las Vegas and have been there a few times on vacation.  We even have a Vegas "Bucket List" because we can never seem to fit everything we want to see and do into one trip.  Vegas is the type of place where you can go several times and never do the same thing twice.  There is always something new, and we're always super busy, packing our schedule as much as we can, but still, we never get to do it all.

The last two times we went to Vegas, I've wanted to go to Madame Tussaud's Wax Museum, and FINALLY, we made it happen.  I have to say adding this to my 101 list gave us exactly the motivation to go during this trip... I wanted to finally cross this off!

The whole experience was WAY more fun than I was expecting.  The museum was huge and there were a lot more statues than I thought there would be!  When we first entered, it was the "Hollywood Scene" themed room, with several celebrity statues in it... Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, Oprah, Julia Roberts, Johnny Depp, Justin Timberlake Ben Affleck, Hugh Hefner, Wolfgang Puck and more... we had a blast taking photos and trying to find exactly the right angle so it looked like the wax statues were looking right at the camera!

After we made our way through the first room, we saw an "Exit" sign & and got a little nervous.  We said to each other "That's it?!"  The good news was that it was actually just a sign to indicate the nearest exit if there was an emergency.  Phew!

The museum went on for several more themed rooms, including a Wedding Chapel, where I married George Clooney... Dan didn't mind. He was our wedding photographer, and Elizabeth Taylor was our witness.

Besides that, Dan was lovin' the ladies, and was all over Halle Berry, J Lo and Britney Spears, to name a few, so what did it matter if I married one guy?!

The best part about the J Lo statue was that, when you touched her butt, her face flushed red!  So I may have encouraged Dan to grab her behind in this photo.

Other rooms were....
the Sports & Athlete room with people like Tiger Woods, Chuck Liddell (UFC fighter), Michael Jordan & Shaq....

the Singer/Entertainer room with Beyonce, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Simon Cowell, Stevie Wonder, Tim McGraw and more...

the Las Vegas room with celebs like Elvis, the Rat Pack, Judy Garland, Blue Man Group...

and a National Icon room with people like Martin Luther King Jr. (who's really short by the way!), Buzz Aldrin & Neil Armstrong, Abe Lincoln, the Kennedys, George Bush, Barack Obama and of course, Marilyn Monroe.  She would be in the same room as all the Presidents right?

Hope you enjoy the pictures of our experience... you have to see them in person to really appreciate the art and effort it takes to craft these statues.  It's seriously amazing.  Some of them seem so real, that you almost expect them to turn their heads, look you right in the eye, and say something to you to scare you half to death.  It can be a little creepy!
