#44. Try 25 New Restaurants in Portland, OR
One weekend in December, Dan and I headed out to do a little Christmas Shopping. It wasn't a successful outing in terms of gifts for our family and friends, but I got a screamin' deal on a great Oregon State jacket for next football season and we were able to try another new restaurant in town!
After a couple of hours of shopping, we were famished and decided to head home and look for somewhere to eat on the way. We were driving through Sellwood and I remembered Hash, a restaurant I'd passed by recently. It caught my eye because Hash is a restaurant on the Passport Card list, meaning we could get a buy one, get one deal on entrees when we used our card. It was about 2pm but breakfast still sounded good, and Hash didn't close til 3pm, so in we went!
It's a cute little place with a unique menu. They use fresh, local ingredients as much as possible. Dan ordered the Aebleskiver dish, which is danish pancakes, and I had an omelette called the Truffled Pig. It had ham and was flavor-infused with truffle oils. Both were delicious, although my dish was the heartier of the two. Dan said he could have eaten a whole second dish of the Aebleskiver. So the portions aren't huge, but it's definitely a yummy place, and the service was perfect. I would go back there again anytime!
