#44. Try 25 New Restaurants in Portland, OR

December 29th, 2010 was a fun night.  It was the 7th annual Christmas Dinner for me & my high school girl friends....  Brittney, Cindy and Faye.

Little did we know, back in 2004, we were starting a special tradition...  over Christmas break from college, us four girls met in NW Portland at Manzana for dinner.  Sadly, Manzana isn't even there in that location any more, but that was the spot of our first Christmas Dinner together....

In 2005, we decided to go out to the new Bridgeport Village and have dinner at CPK...

In 2007, Faye and Rick moved to Africa to minister to the people of Uganda for a year.  We kept to the tradition and had our special dinner out in September that year.  We ate at Besaw's on NW 23rd, and then went to Papa Haydn's for dessert.

In 2008, our foursome doubled and a half... we invited the husbands & husband to be... and two baby bumps made their debut!  Dinner was at Everett Street Bistro, and dessert was our new house!

In 2009, our group grew even more... we pre-funked at the Weigel's house with hors d'oeuvres and our families... parents, and babies...

... and then headed out to dinner at Serrato, where we were surprised to find out, we got a private room in the back, all to ourselves!  It was perfect!

And now, most recently, for 2010, we joined together once again for dinner out at 23Hoyt and dessert at Alotto Gelato.

23Hoyt was a new restaurant for most of us, and one of the funniest things to happen that night was that 7 of the 8 in our group all ordered a hamburger for dinner!

Sadly, 23Hoyt didn't score high marks that night.... there were some food issues and service issues, but the company was more than wonderful, and as usual, the eight of us had so much fun being together, and celebrating the Christmas season.   And more than ever, i can't wait for next year!
